10/10/2019

In Week 41, Nordic Folkecenter in Hurup will host the second international conference for small and medium-sized wind turbines, with participation from several countries interested in renewable energy.

The conference is organized by Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in cooperation with the Danish Association of Small and Medium Wind Turbines.

The four-day conference will be the gathering point for experts and stakeholders from around the world to discuss the potential, testing and certification of small and medium-sized wind turbines, as well as their role in stand-alone and off-grid systems in the Arctic region and other remote areas.

The conference will also cover topics such as new grid codes and how these will affect manufacturers' decisions, with the main focus on Europe.

The purpose of the conference is to develop policies to support the growth of the industry.

During the week, there will be various speeches by experts in the field of small and medium-sized wind turbines. Director Ulrich Høgenhaven from Viking Wind, who is the vice chairman of the Danish Association of Small and Medium Wind Turbines, will be among the many speakers. He will share Viking Wind's experience of setting up a wind turbine in Greenland and the challenges and precautions when setting up turbines in the Arctic region.

At the end of the week, there will be a day excursion for the conference participants to the test center for small wind turbines in Hundborg and the national test center for large wind turbines in Østerild.
