5kW wind turbine in partnership with TWE
At Viking Wind, we are proud to offer our customers a small 5 kW household wind turbine as part of our product portfolio.
We have partnered with the German company TWE (Tandem Wind Energy) to distribute their WindStream5 turbine (commonly known as WS5), which is a turbine with an output of 5 kW. This will enable us to meet the increasing demand for a smaller household wind turbine.
In many ways, the WS5 shares several similarities with the Viking VS household wind turbine. For example, it can be raised and lowered for installation and maintenance, ensuring cost-effective maintenance. The components used for the WS5 are designed to give the turbine a life expectancy of 20 years.
Leading companies and experts from both Germany and Denmark have contributed to the development of the turbine in aerodynamic, mechanical, electrical, and technical areas, ensuring that you, as a customer, receive a solid product that meets both Danish and German standards.

Easy and inexpensive installation and service
As is the case with the Viking VS turbine, the assembly and installation of the WS5 household wind turbine offers significant savings. Here, too, there is no need for a crane to raise the turbine. A simple winch can do it - and you stand on the ground while working with the turbine.
This makes servicing and maintenance of the WS5 as cheap and straightforward as with a Viking VS turbine. Wind turbines must be serviced at least once a year, according to legislation. In this process, the turbine can also be lowered and raised using an electric winch. As a customer, this ensures cheaper servicing of your turbine.

Small 5kW wind turbine for home
WS5 is a professional small 5kW wind turbine for the home. It can be directly integrated into national grids and mini-grids on the AC side. It is characterised by its lightweight design, high availability, long maintenance intervals and optimised energy yield at medium wind speed.
Individual design
A WS5 can be custom-designed according to the customer's wishes and needs, including the logo and colour. Companies have the opportunity to put their stamp on the turbine and integrate it as part of the corporate design profile.
For example, you can improve your environmental and climate footprint and help position yourself as future-oriented and environmentally conscious through customised colour schemes of the nacelle, wings and tower. This provides a clear marketing and image advantage.

In the 5 kW wind turbine market segment, the WS5 stands out as one of the few turbines equipped with a wind vane, similar to our own Viking VS turbine.
This feature includes a motor and gearbox that precisely aligns the rotor with the wind direction. Utilising this advanced technology improves energy production from the turbine and reduces fatigue loads attributed to yaw errors.
