Small wind turbine up to 25KW

Wind turbine for small businesses and households

The Viking VS wind turbine is a variable-speed small wind turbine with a rated power of 10kw to 25kw

This variable-speed small wind turbine is based on its proven and reliable predecessor, the Viking 25. First, all the great features of the Viking 25 are reused, but the Viking VS has a more efficient performance and is more flexible. This small wind turbine can be adapted to the conditions required by its location and always complies with the applicable regulations for small wind turbines. Viking VS small wind turbine has a variable effect of either 10kw, 20kw, or even up to 25 kW.

The Viking VS' predecessor - the Viking 25 - was introduced in 2009. Since then it has been tested with the largest number of turbines in operation in Denmark at the time, making it the best-tested small wind turbine in its class. We have further developed the turbine based on a lot of real data, of which Viking VS is the result.

To ensure a long lifetime for the wind turbine, larger safety factors and more conservative calculations on various components have been used at strategic locations compared to the very large megawatt turbines and some new types of small wind turbines. The turbine will therefore most likely, in most locations, have a lifespan exceeding 20-25 years.

Easy and inexpensive installation and service

There are great cost reductions to have on the assembly and installation of the Viking VS small wind turbine. There is no need for a crane to hoist the turbine. A simple winch can do it - and you are placed on the ground while working with the wind turbine.

This makes service and maintenance of the Viking VS simple and cost-effective. The turbine has to be serviced once a year according to legislation, and the wind turbine can then be lowered and raised with an electric winch. This ensures a low-cost service.

The Viking small wind turbine is 100% functional Danish design.

Type

Viking VS optimizes the production at different wind speeds / Tip brakes keep the turbine from running out of control.

Tower

Viking VS is manufactured with a tilt tower for easier installation and maintenance.

Active Stall

The wind turbine's yaw mechanism turns the wind turbine's rotor upwind. (Wind turbine yaw is used to regulate the position of the blades to the direction of the wind.)

Brake

3 independent brakes for greater safety (Inverter, Electromechanical fail-safe and Tip Brake)

Flexible and efficient small wind turbine

The Viking VS small wind turbine is both flexible and adaptable, which makes the wind turbine very efficient. The technical explanation is that the wind turbine is both rotations-regulated and stall-regulated. This means that it is not only the wind conditions but also technical calculations that control the rotation speed of the blades. This provides greater control of the turbine, enabling the wind conditions to be utilized more effectively.

That also means that the wind turbine can be adapted both to a location on the Danish West Coast and a location in the countryside, although the wind conditions are very different. In other words, the wind turbine exploits the conditions offered by its location.
