Now is the time to act if you are thinking about building your own small wind turbines. The last pool for increased price supplements for electricity produced from small wind turbines starts on May 1, 2019 and ends again on June 13, 2019!

The Danish Energy Agency is currently reopening applications for price supplements for surplus electricity if you want to install a brand new domestic wind turbine. However, this is the very last time the pool is offered, and the pool this year is limited to 1 megawatt, corresponding to approx. 40 Viking VS turbines, so it is the "first come, first served" principle that applies here.

The price allowance for domestic wind turbines in 2019 is:

  • 98 øre per KWh for domestic turbines with an installed capacity of up to 10 KWh
  • 78 øre per KWh for domestic turbines with an installed capacity of 10 - 25 KWh

Viking Wind can supply turbines for every need, and we can help you with everything from idea to installation. Our turbines meet all grid requirements in Denmark.

It is a great advantage if the installed turbine is on the Danish Energy Association's positive list. If it is not, extensive technical documentation must be submitted before the turbine can be connected to the grid. You can read more about this here. It will therefore clearly facilitate the administrative workflow to choose a turbine from the positive list, as you do not need to apply for an exemption to have your domestic turbine connected to the grid. The Viking VS25 and VS10 turbines are already on the positive list at Dansk Energi, so this is one less thing to worry about when choosing a domestic wind turbine.

It is the Danish Energy Agency that processes and decides whether you can be granted a price supplement within the pool in question. The processing and decision of the applications is made in the order in which the Danish Energy Agency receives complete applications.

If the Danish Energy Agency receives several complete applications on the same day that together exceed the amount of remaining watts in the pool, the order in which the applications are to be decided will be decided by drawing lots. You can read more about the rules and procedures on the Danish Energy Agency's website

If you can answer yes to the following statements, a domestic wind turbine could be a good solution for you:

  • You think in terms of green energy solutions and are environmentally conscious
  • You live in a rural area and have a good distance to neighbors
  • You live somewhere with good wind conditions
  • You have high energy consumption
  • You care about future generations and the environment we leave them

So don't hesitate - now is the time to act if you want to get a share of the last pool for increased price premiums produced from domestic wind turbines. And we at Viking Wind, with many years of expertise from the domestic wind turbine industry, are ready to help you in any way we can. We look forward to hearing from you!
